This was a recent job right on the water-front of Lake Michigan. Pretty cool restoration, and we even proved that we can do stairs as well!

The Rumpus Room: A Gastropub
This is one of the "babies" of Handcrafted by Schmidt. If you are a fan of dining in downtown Milwaukee, then you have probably encountered a Bartolotta's Restaurant at some point. This is one of the newest additions to the Bartolotta's Group: The Rumpus Room, A Gastropub.
The floor is a Horsebeam Herringbone pattern. The horsebeam is a reclaimed red & white oak mix. The Handcrafted Crew then flat scraped the whole surface to even the floor and add a little more texture.
The lighting towards the back of the restaurant was not the best,
so please excuse the somewhat blurry photos.
Rustic Horsebeam
This is a job in Brookfield. New Construction with a very rustic feel, so of course, the owner fell in love with our Horsebeam Reclaimed wood. It's a mixture of red & white oak with an extremely rustic feel. Our handcraftsmen will flat-scrape the wood in one of the final steps to make the surface even. Here are a couple of shots of the installation. One portion is a custom basket-weave parquet that has to be installed piece by tiny piece. The other majority of the house is random-width planks.
